While You're Away... - Quality pet care provided by professional pet sitter Lisa Weaver
Frequently asked questions

 Q. Where do I do the pet sitting?
 A.  I will go to your home once, twice or three times a day to care for your pet.  Pets do much better in their own home and environment instead of an unfamiliar boarding facility.  At your home, your pet will get my full focus and attention.

 Q.  How long do I stay?
 A.  I will stay a minimum of half an hour up to an hour each morning and each evening.  By staying a minimum of half an hour up to an hour,  I can get an accurate picture of how your pet is doing.  This gives me time to take care of daily needs and give them extra love, attention and play time. At the end of our time together,  your pet has been entertained and is ready to rest again.

 Q. Do I walk the pet?
 A. Yes, I walk each time I go if that's what you would like.  It's an excellent way to entertain them and it's healthy too.  The pets really love it and they feel like they've accomplished something really great and are ready to settle down again when I leave.

 Q. What about cats?
 A. With the cats, I have a giant bag of toys that I bring each trip.  The cats learn quickly what the bag represents.  If your cat wants, and most do, I will play with them each trip. This also makes the cat feel like they accomplished something fun and are ready to rest again.

 Q. Can you take care of daily medication?
 A. Yes. I also work at the University Animal and Medical Dental Clinic as head receptionist.  During my six years there, one of my many responsibilities is caring for our boarding pets and hospitalized pets.  I learned early on how to medicate both cats and dogs.  I have also cared for a diabetic cat with insulin injections and give my own cat fluid therapy once a week due to kidney disease.

 Q. Do you come out prior to meet the pet and see to see the environment?
 A. Yes, I'll come prior to your first time away; there will be a one time, meet and greet fee for this visit.  This visit will take between 30 to 60 minutes.  I'll get to meet your pet, see their environment and learn from you how best to care for them while you're away. I will also bring a pet sitting agreement form to fill out together.
